A Cosmic Confluence: What's Brewing in the Living Room?
"Avengers: Infinity War" comes to Cocoflix and is the culmination of close to a decade of filmmaking and storytelling. This extra wide and epic 2018 action-adventure will catch the eye of your family's attention with its nearly 2.5 hour runtime. This movie puts the Earth's strongest heroes and their intergalactic friends against a new villain, Thanos. He is a cosmic dictator who has a different perspective and a different opinion on how the universe should ultimately be. This villain is going to change the course of the universe with his quest to collect the six all-powerful Infinity Stones. This will bring every main character from across the universe into a large scale, galaxy spanning war. The mood is a mix of being anxious and worried with aParamount wit and the camaraderiethat the fans have enjoyed time and time again. It is a plot that has a lot of substance with action that will keep the viewers' attentive with a lot of fast paced intensity. It is an epic and a journey that is immersive for the players who are about to get into the game.
Who Should Gather and Who Might Step Aside?
Teens and young adults who have followed the heroes along in their multiple undertakings will appreciate this film. They will be locked in with the blend of adventure, science-fiction, and nonstop action. They will also appreciate the interactions that have been perfectly crafted to be real and genuine. The drama also has depth and surprises that might even captivate those grandparents who are not prone to watching science fiction. While it is important to note "Infinity War" is the conclusion of a lot of storylines and therefore, many different movies, the audience has shown that those who have only been exposed to a few of the first movies have a lot of fun. Those who have invested the time and energy with these movies appreciate the artistry of these characters and what they have been through. If the members of the audience only recognize the characters from these movies because they are a part of everyday culture, they will miss a lot of the value. This movie is PG-13 and contains a fair amount of intense battles and even more perilous situations. However, it still retains an emphasis on adventure over the grotesque nature of these battles, and so it is appropriate for most members of the family to go see.
Memorable Moments and Stellar Performances
One of the things critics and audiences appreciate most about this film is its casting of a large ensemble, and the way it integrates them without difficulty. Some of the humor and the vignettes that many viewers like best happen when characters who have never been together before, on screen at least, interact. The banter and alliances these characters have provide a welcome departure from the seriousness of the plot. For many, Josh Brolin does the best job of the ensemble as Thanos, incorporating motion capture and a great deal of emotional depth. He avoids making Thanos a proto-typical one dimensional bad guy. It is clear the filmmakers and actors thought about each of Thanos’ scenes and how he would impact them The film is said to "brims with tensely spectacular combat sequences" by one reviewer. He points out that there are never dull moments.
Where the Story Might Falter or Divide the Room
Even though many people put the film’s ambition in a positive light, the scale may have been a bit too much for some. The juggling of a lot of characters and subplots can create pacing issues and a “flabby middle third.” The film’s length means some characters will get less screen time than others and some audiences may dislike that. Of course, the film is a direct follow-up to some very long stories and due to that may not include enough backstory to get newcomers caught up to speed. Most of your family action fans will enjoy this film, but the lack of exposition does create some new difficulties. Without in-depth knowledge of what happened in the past stories, some of the new exciting moments may fail to draw emotions in some of your family members. Since the film is easy to follow, people with no previous knowledge of the stories will likely enjoy the film; however if they don’t have prior knowledge they’ll likely appreciate the film less than an avid fan of the series, so a disengaged family member or two may be inevitable.
The Grand Verdict for Your Weekend Viewing
The latest entry in the series, Avengers: Infinity War, breaks boundaries in cinema once again by combining the talents of over a dozen previous films into something fresh. This film keeps the theater engaged throughout with nonstop action, surprising character development, genuine dramatic tension, and easy to understand stakes. With that level engagement from an audience, the film easily delivers as most patrons walk away happy, a welcome treat for Marvel Studios' powerful storylines spread across numerous films. This film is great for a family movie night. Anyone that knows the comic book heroes loves them, plus this film is full of good outweighed by evil with a clever plot. This film's plot is heavy and might confuse beginners to the universe or fans of standalone plot movies, but as long as you are ready to go on the epic journey, take the movie out. It is worth watching.
